DESCRIPTION: Clary Sage oil is steam distilled from flowering tops of Salvia Sclarea plant which is native to southern And central Europe as well as western Asia. It is a biennial herb that grows to about 3 ft in height With hairy stems, velvety leaves and and lilac-pink flowers. The latin name “salvia” means good health and “sclerea” means clear. Known to many other ancient cultures Clary Sage is believed to provide illumination by ancient Indians, while the Romans credits it for its ability to impart good health, as the latin name suggests.
It is a restorative and calming oil which may help provide relief from muscular spasm or pre-menstrual cramp when used in massage or aromatherapy. It may help enhance concentration and memory or produce a calming emotional effect. |
